We are happy you are here! Thank you for visiting our website.  It has been a crazy road creating this new business to help you, the homeowner, create a harmonious environment.

In this introductory post, I thought it would be informative to get a feel of why the decision was made to start this home interior/exterior design business. First, coming up with your business name is not an easy venture. I probably went through 6,000 names (ugh) before I found the right one. My poor husband…poor friends (some won’t even take my calls anymore) had to listen to me for months, but still, not one name felt like “the one.” I chose Silver Lining by default..I was going through paint colors obtaining my degree. I had to choose a paint for a particular home design for an assignment. Benjamin Moore Silver Lining caught my eye- what an amazing color. I loved the brightness that this paint brought to the space of the home.  The name “Silver Lining” also represents how I feel about any home renovation. Every home has a silver lining…. and the rest if history! No, there is more to it, really. I have been designing, remodeling homes for years. I had these crazy design ideas…my husband, Bryant, (who is SO excited to be the Vice President, ha) would make it all happen. We had no budget, so we did all of our renovations ourselves, on a budget….I can imagine what we could create for a homeowner WITH a budget. Whoa! Even if not, we love the challenge of any space and believe me…there were challenging spaces.

So, having the knack for design is a great tool and one I have just by instinct. HOWEVER for me, if you are going to start a business you need to know all there is to know about designs, renovations and remodeling. Regardless of how good your design instincts are, education is key.

Having more than 10 years experience in design, I decided to get my degree in home remodeling/design to further my education so I too, can educate others and create the best spaces for your home. So here we are….all of the designs on this site were designed by me and created by Bryant.

After all there is a Silver Lining to any home, you just have to look for it.

My hope for you is that my future posts will help you create wonderful home designs and helpful tips even on a budget.
