Get Ready for Spring. 5 Easy Curb Appeal Ideas for Less Than $50.

Easy curb appeal ideas with any budget.

Replace Outdoor Lighting

When we change out any lighting we save money by buying the same mounting system. You will also make it easy on yourself, unless of coarse you are an electrician. Outdoor light fixtures can be found for as little as $20. There are a ton of antique shops located all along Route 1.

Salvage places such as NorEast Architectural Antiques in South Hampton, NH is another place to find the perfect match for the vintage look and one of our favorite places to shop!

Paint the Front Door

Most exterior paint will cost you approximately $30 a gallon. If you use high-end paint such as Fine Paints of Europe (our favorite!) you can get away with just a quart. Better quality paint saves you money and time. Do not buy cheap paint/primer mix. This is a gimmick and it will take you much longer to prep your door. Pick a bold color that makes your home stick out, but make sure to match or use an offset color that works with your home.

Upgrade Your Mailbox

This is almost too easy, but it works! It doesn’t matter if you have a regular mailbox by the road or if you have a box mounted to your house, adding a new mailbox adds curb appeal. You can find a new mailbox starting around $20. Pick a mailbox that stands out and is darker than your house color.

Install New House Numbers

This is one our favorites. It is such an easy way to add curb appeal to your home. We prefer big bold numbers but you could go either way depending on the style of your home. Try to match your new house numbers with the finish that is on your exterior light fixtures. Simple house numbers can start at $2.00 for a number or you can look into customized plaques that can cost $50-$100.

Install Flower Containers

Ok, we understand it is only March, who knows tomorrow could be 75 degrees! Super easy and inexpensive. You can buy just a few flowers from your local garden center/nursery or even Home Depot. We have always had luck with Proven Winners. It doesn’t take a lot to add a lot of color. Place the planters on your front porch or on the side of the door to add curb appeal.

First impressions matter.  The good thing is, it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
